Royalty, Rank, Title and Tincture

Royalty

The Kingdom of Onondaga operates the way we think a medieval kingdom might have. While sometimes democratic in nature, very often it was not. This Kingdom is no different and is loosely patterned along the lines of the Feudal System containing several levels of Rank, Title and Address. Royalty consist of the King / Queen (Your Majesty) ; Prince / Princess (Your Highness) ; Duke / Duchess (Your Grace) ; Earl / Countess (Lord / Lady) and Baron / Baroness (Lord / Lady) .

Rank, Title and Tincture

Rank and title in the Kingdom may be obtained or awarded at the discretion of the Liege Lord in accordance to years of service and / or equal acts of loyalty to the Realm and shall be designated by tincture ribbon or tassel hanging from the Official Award Pin. The decision for Award by the Liege is final and beyond contestation.

General Populace:

Lad / Lass / Master / Maiden / Lord / Lady

Squire = 1 year service – Sable (Black)

(Open to all Active Members, Associate Members and Approved Minor Children)

Non-Royal Rank & Award:

Knight = 2 – 5 years service – Argent (White)

Royal Guard = 2 years service - appointment by Captain of the Guard

Captain of the Guard = 2 years service – appointment by Master-at-Arms

Master-at-Arms = 3 years service - appointment by the Liege Lord

Royalty:

Baron / Baroness = 6 – 10 years service – Ore (Yellow)

Earl / Countess = 11 – 15 years service – Gules (Red)

Duke / Duchess = 16 – 20 years service – Vert (Green)

Prince / Princess = 21 -25 years service – Azure (Blue)

King / Queen = Over 26 years service – Purpue (Purple)
