Gear & Encampments

Over the years there have been some good pointers are always applicable!

  • If your camping at an event, remember that other people's camps are an extension of their home. Don't take shortcuts through the middle of someone's camp unless you have first asked their permission. Always ask before entering someone's camp, pavilion or trailer.
  • Act safe and sensible with camp fires! Don't set them up too close to any tents. Don't throw bottles, cans under pressure or fireworks of any sort directly into a fire. Don't leave camp fires unattended. Properly extinguish all camp fires prior to leaving the event.
  • Be courteous to others when deciding when to use external generators, loud music, etc… so this remains an enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • Be sure to leave a campsite in as good or often better condition then when you arrived. Bring your own trash bags and pick-up and properly dispose of all trash, regardless of whether or not it was yours. Lead by example!
  • Although many participants and patrons are trustworthy, it is always an encouraged practice to lock-up all valuables. Unfortunately, there are those individuals out there who will take advantage of any situation and prey on unsuspecting victims (alcohol always seems to be high on the list of prey). Should you find yourself a victim of criminal damage or burglary notify the proper authorities and do not take the law into your own hands.
